OUR FOCUS
WORSHIP
God created us
to worship. Worship is standing in awe of our holy God and bowing reverently
before the King. Individual, family, and corporate worship brings renewal
when we are honest about our sin. We receive the grace, freely given, of our
God as we worship Him through His Son in spirit and truth.
COMMUNITY
“Christianity
means community through Jesus Christ and in Jesus Christ. First, a Christian
needs others because of Jesus Christ. Second, a Christian comes to others
only through Jesus Christ.” -- Dietrich Bonhoeffer
We are not our own. Christ’s people need one another. Real, deep covenant
relationships take time, and we aim to build these relationships upon
Christ, our sure foundation.
SHEPHERDING
We emulate our
Good Shepherd. In keeping with Colossians 1:28, we seek to “present every
man and woman complete (mature) in Christ.” As fellow pilgrims, we travel
together the journey of sanctification, set free through the forgiveness of
sins and the royal robe of Christ’s righteousness. Along the way, we bear
one another’s burdens and replace “Christian Lite” with the renewing reality
and anchoring depth of the knowledge of God—saturating all of life.
MERCY
We are
merciful because Christ gave us, sinners, His mercy. We seek to meet the
spiritual, physical and emotional needs of those in our community. Reaching
out individually and corporately among our neighbors, friends and coworkers,
we share the Gospel power to transform from the inside out and embrace those
in need.
MISSION
In obedience
to Christ’s Great Commission, our goal is to train Christians to be his
witnesses in all cultures by ministering the whole gospel locally,
regionally, cross-culturally and internationally. Hill Country PC (PCA) is
in a unique position for outreach to the military community and to prepare
service members to be ambassadors for Christ as they deploy worldwide. The
focus in training is to prepare Christians to “go,” “give,” “send,” “pray,”
and “engage” the people of God to be witnesses to Jesus Christ.
